AROUND THE WORLD IN 120 DAYS

MY SEMESTER AT SEA

In the Spring of 2018, I made a trip around the world through a study abroad program called Semester at Sea. Over a period of 120 days, I circumnavigated the globe, I visited 15 countries on 4 continents, crossed the equator twice, broadened my perspectives, and made countless friends.

This is book is my account of the trip, the places I visited, and people I met.

I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I did living it. May you be inspired to

Live Your Own Adventure.

ABOUT ME

Sam Berry

I am a recent engineering graduate from the University of Mississippi, affectionately known as Ole Miss. I have always had a love of travel, and I love sharing my experiences with others. Even in my hometown of Jackson, MS, I so enjoy sharing my favorite eats, haunts, and hideaways with locals and tourists alike.

When I embarked on my Semester at Sea, I never set out to write a book. I kept a detailed journal and the book just happened along the way. When I returned home, I found myself completely unable to summarize the experiences of my four month voyage, and many of my friends shared this frustration. I decided to publish this book as an attempt to better explain what it means to sail around the world. To my best ability, I kept a fully honest account of my day-to-day life both on the ship and in country.
